2020 PNT Webinar Symposium

Main content start

Due to the corona virus pandemic, this year's annual PNT symposium was a virtual event—a webinar in which all presenters and participants were connected and communicated via the Internet using Zoom and YouTube Livestreaming technologies.

Unlike previous PNT symposia, which began with a day of student presentations, followed by a day and a half of invited speaker presentations, this year's webinar featured only invited presentations. The webinar symposium was held over two half days: Tuesday morning, October 27, and Wednesday morning, October 28. Each webinar morning featured six interesting and informative presentations. Unfortunately, we were not yet able to find a way to include a virtual banquet and dinner speaker in this year's virtual symposium.

Also, unlike previous PNT symposia, in which the number of participants was limited by the size of the Kavli Auditorium at SLAC, this year's virtual symposium had no physical limitations to the number of participants. Advanced registration was requirred, and all told, our 2020 webinar symposium had 150 participants, including 12 invited speakers, 120 Zoom participants and 18 YouTube Livestream participants.
